Our school is a part of the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden (SAKG) program. We are a leadership school. Our students are involved in gardening and cooking to learn about fresh seasonal produce, healthy productive garden ecosystems and the importance of local produce.
The kitchen garden program provides a great opportunity for our students to put into practice reading, writing, numeracy and science skills in each session. The kitchen is a fantastic place for students to shine in hands-on practical learning situations.
Our students work together to sow, grow and harvest food in our organic vegetable garden. We harvest the produce from the garden and use it to prepare wonderful food experiences. Together we share the food and foster a love of fresh seasonal food, great gardening and nourish our bodies with fresh healthy produce.
